Electrical Thermography Inspections

Electrical Thermography

As fully qualified thermographers, we utilise leading edge thermography equipment, along with enhanced analytical techniques to carry out qualitative and quantitative surveys of Switchboards (MCC’s) and HVAC Control Panels (MCP’s). The main objective of the thermography surveys is to identify unusual thermal patterns and avoid root cause failures of plant.

Reports are produced for the client detailing the specific enclosure, any identified anomalies and a comparative image (possibly from previous base studies).

If required, we are happy to extend the thermography surveys to incorporate plant items, such as motors, valve operation and transformers.

Energy Consultation

Utilising approved and successful energy saving calculation methods, we look to carry out energy surveys of existing plantrooms to ascertain the current energy and Kg Co2 usage for motor starting arrangements per annum.

The figures calculated also provide a turndown ratio proposal, which show the cost saving (£) and the reduction of Kg of Co2 as well as calculating the payback period for the supply and installation of a variable speed drive – which some government organisations are now treating as a secondary incentive, with the push for Net Zero environment compliance being paramount.

Controls Consultation

With our previous experience and detailed knowledge within the industry, we are available to offer assistance with BMS design consultancy, incorporating the creation of BMS points schedules and assistance with specification requirements.

We can also draw on our knowledge to offer guidance on which systems would be more advantageous than others based on allowance for expandability or, depending on the scale or criticality of the plant to be controlled, a more cost effective solution utilising basic open protocol equipment – which still provides current technology and software routines, without the capital expenditure demanded by some of the larger brands/organisations.
